Access to Teaching
One thing from college that made a difference
I want to emulate those lecturers who taught me on my access course and help other people like me get the chance to go on to university.
Access course gives lecturer Steven more than a sporting chance
When access learner and sports fan Steven Rimmer joined Derby College’s access course in Ilkeston, he quickly knew he wanted to be a lecturer one day. Now three years on he’s not only lecturing but is also shortly to have his research work on boxers’ nutrition published in a leading sports science journal. A former footballer who almost turned professional, Steven is pleased that his love of sport has led to an academic career.
